Cheery Hello Greeting Card Featuring Stampin' Up!'s Message In A Bottle Stamp Set

I just can't get enough of the Message In A Bottle stamp set. I just love the cute puns in the sentiments and the smaller images are perfect to double or triple-up to add interest to your projects. For this card, I colored the mermaid with my Stampin' Blends alcohol markers. I have been having so much fun playing with these markers. They are so easy to use that they can turn anyone into an artist.

Traditional Christmas Card Featuring Products from the Stampin' Up! 2017-2018 Annual Catalog

I love the excitement of seeing all of the new products in the Holiday Catalog each year, but sometimes my wish lists can get a little out of hand.  I have to stop to remind myself that I don't need to have it all, and I should remember to use what I already have. This idea inspired my card for today. It features products which can all be found in the 2017-2018 Annual Catalog. I just love this sentiment and the simplicity of this card gives it a traditional feel.

Watercolor Block Technique Featuring Artistically Asian Stamp Set

When I was looking through my very first Stampin' Up catalog years ago, I had quite a long wish list. Unfortunately my eyes were bigger than my wallet, and one of the stamp sets that didn't make it into my collection was an Asian-themed set. By the time it made it to the top of my wish list it had retired. Although I love all of my Stampin' Up products, I always regretted not owning that set. THAT is why I am so excited about the Artistically Asian set featured on this card. I love that the images aren't "too pretty" so they can work for masculine cards like this one, which was inspired by Stampin' Up Demonstrator Melissa Kerman.

This card features a watercolor background created with an acrylic block. Start by tapping your ink pads on your size D clear block. Then use water in your Stampin' Spritzer and spray the ink on the block until it starts to blend. If in doubt, spray one or two more times. More water creates a smoother, more blended background. Place the block flat on your work surface.

Next, take a 3.5" x 3.5" piece of watercolor paper and press it on top of the block. I like to flip them upside down so that the paper is on the table before I remove the block.  (It tends to be a little less messy this way.) After removing the block, there will be some excess water and ink pooled on the paper. A quick blot with paper towel will give you your finished product. Let the paper dry completely before finishing your project. If you're impatient like me, use your heat tool to speed up the process.

Thank you for stopping by! I hope you have been inspired to create something today. If you are interested in purchasing any of the items used for this project, just click on the photos below and you will be taken to my online store.
